Quick help
I cannot hear anything.
Check the volume on your iPhone and confirm audio is not being sent to AirPods, a Bluetooth speaker, or AirPlay. In Canopy, open the full player and raise the birdsong intensity or use Settings → Volume calibration. If playback reports a problem, choose Try Again.
The birds are too loud or distracting.
Canopy works best below ordinary listening volume. Open Settings → Volume calibration and set the sample like birds outside an open window. You can also lower the live intensity from the player.
Playback stopped when I unplugged headphones.
That is intentional. Canopy pauses after a headphone route is removed so it does not unexpectedly play through the phone speaker. Press Play when you are ready.
Canopy is not playing in the background.
Start a session, then lock the phone or switch apps. If iOS has terminated Canopy after a system update or memory pressure, reopen the app and start again. Also confirm no other app has taken exclusive control of audio.
Sessions and controls
What is the difference between Reset and Ambient Mode?
Reset is a focused six-minute session. Ambient Mode offers 15, 30, and 60-minute timers plus an unlimited session for quieter background listening.
Why does the sound keep changing?
Canopy assembles short phrases from real field recordings while you listen. Timing, level, and stereo position vary within restrained limits, which avoids an obvious repeating playlist loop.
Where are the recording credits?
Open Settings in the app or visit the public Recording Credits page.
Privacy and data
Does calibration use the microphone?
No. Calibration plays a sample and asks you to choose a comfortable level manually. Canopy does not request microphone access.
Is listening history uploaded?
No. Listening insights and preferences stay on your device. Canopy has no account, analytics, ads, or tracking SDK. See the Privacy Policy.
How do I erase Canopy data?
Delete Canopy from your iPhone. Because there is no Canopy account or cloud service, there is no remote account record to remove.
