Canopy for iPhone

Canopy is designed to work without sending your information anywhere. The app has no account system, advertising, analytics, tracking, or third-party marketing SDKs. It does not request your location, contacts, photos, health data, or microphone.

In short: listening happens on your device. Nothing is uploaded to Canopy.

Information kept on your device

Canopy stores a small amount of app state locally so the experience can remember your choices:

  • Your completed onboarding state.
  • Your preferred playback volume and calibration status.
  • Favorite soundscapes and the currently selected profile.
  • Local listening history used to show private listening insights.

This information stays in the app's local storage. Canopy does not receive it. You can remove it by deleting the app from your device.

Audio and recording sources

Canopy plays audio bundled with the app. It does not listen through your microphone or record audio around you. The field recordings used to create Canopy's soundscapes are credited publicly on the Recording Credits page.

This website

This site does not use cookies, account systems, advertising pixels, or product analytics. Cloudflare provides DNS, encrypted delivery, and edge security, while the site itself runs on a privately managed origin server. These systems may process standard technical request information such as IP address, browser type, requested page, timestamp, and security signals to serve the site, maintain reliability, and prevent abuse.

Canopy does not maintain a separate analytics database, use request information to build profiles, or combine website requests with app activity. Infrastructure logs follow normal security and operational rotation. Any diagnostic log export made to investigate a specific incident will be deleted when the investigation ends and no later than 30 days after export, unless it must be retained to address abuse or comply with law.

Email

If you email for support, the message and return address are received to answer you and maintain continuity if you reply. Support correspondence is normally deleted within 12 months after the request is resolved, or sooner if you ask, unless it must be retained for security or legal reasons. Do not send sensitive health or medical information.

Your choices and privacy requests

Because Canopy receives no app activity or account data, most privacy requests concern support email. You may ask whether we hold correspondence about you and request a copy, correction, or deletion by using the contact address below. We may ask for enough information to verify that the request concerns your email address. These choices supplement any mandatory privacy rights available where you live.

Children's privacy

Canopy does not knowingly collect personal information from children or anyone else through the app. If a child contacts us by email, a parent or guardian may ask us to delete that correspondence.

International access

The website may be accessed from different countries, and its infrastructure may process technical request data where its providers operate. The Canopy app itself does not transmit personal data to us.

Changes to this policy

If Canopy's data practices change, this page will be updated before the new practice is introduced, and the effective date above will change. A material change may also be called out in the app or App Store listing.

Contact

Questions or deletion requests concerning support correspondence can be sent to [email protected].
